Since 2008, CBA has conducted long term studies (2008-2018) in Arrow Lakes and Kinbasket reservoirs to measure the effectiveness of reservoir operations, vegetation management and physical works on a wide range of wildlife species including water birds, raptors, shorebirds, breeding birds, migrant songbirds, ungulates, terrestrial insects, small mammals, and habitat. Results of the studies will inform future reservoir operations to better protect environmental values. CBA is now the leading company in British Columbia on reservoir ecology.

In the Peace River, CBA has been conducting studies on effects of spills on fisheries, wildlife, and habitat downstream of the Peace Canyon Dam (2010-2013), a long term monitoring project (2012-2020) on effects of habitat enhancements for waterfowl, shorebirds, breeding songbirds, amphibians and fish.
